The Woman Behind the Curtain...

My commitment to education has spanned for the last 10+ years with an inspiration to create. Currently I am professionally licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education in Math teaching grades 5 through 8, Special Education Kindergarten through 8 and grades 5 through 12. I also hold an Initial Licensure in Elementary 1 through 6.
While most of my years have been teaching students in the middle school, I am very comfortable working with kids of all ages. My past teaching assignment allowed me the opportunity to work with students who had suffered life changing trauma. It is their trauma that influenced how they access learning. This experience has convinced me that there is more to education than academics. Helping students develop coping and self-efficacy strategies along with providing a structures and safe academic setting is what I believe my primary obligation is to my students.

I like to share my ideas as well as write. I have been honored as a contributor writer to the Empowering the Mentor by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Their selection of my article at the beginning of my teaching year was very exciting to me!
