Below shows some of our classroom hands-on projects:


Student Project Grade 7
Students were given the task to create a rollercoaster made of paper (recycled folders and index cards). Students were given free range to design. Discussion around slope, Newton's Laws of Motion and the engineering design process were essential.

Teacher model
As the students built, so did I (when there was time). This allowed them to have a model to give them ideas if they got stuck.

Batman Mask in progress
A 7th grade student, who is also a resident of the program, did not have a costume for Halloween. I told him that I had a cape and asked what he wanted to be. He said "Batman"... so we constructed a Batman mask out of cardboard and duct tape.
